That is why, for our audio systems, real wood is irreplaceable. We work exclusively with the finest suppliers in Northern Europe, with oak being our preferred partner: it embodies Scandinavian minimalism and is so versatile in its finish that it lends a completely unique character to every room.

In the Atelier, we push beyond the boundaries of the catalog. We work with almost any species of wood – and sometimes we go even further. We have already guided clients who entrusted us with wood from a very special tree in their own family garden to create an absolutely unique piece of acoustic furniture.

Depending on the architectural requirements, we choose the ideal form of processing: whether solid wood or masterfully applied real wood veneer (as seen in Beovision Harmony or Beolab 90) – we always opt for the solution that brings acoustics and design into perfect harmony.

At Bang & Olufsen, a textile is far more than an aesthetic cover – it is an acoustic precision component. Our fabrics are woven or knitted with the utmost care to guarantee absolute sound clarity. We utilize the natural warmth and complexity of high-quality wool to give our products a "homely soul."
In close partnership with Kvadrat, the Danish icon of exclusive textiles, we developed the "Audio Line." These fabrics are a technological feat: they offer total acoustic transparency combined with an unmistakable look. All Kvadrat colors found in our portfolio are created exclusively for Bang & Olufsen.
For maximum individuality, we also collaborate with a specialized German manufacture. This partnership allows us to print onto fabrics without any acoustic loss. Whether specific shades or complex patterns – especially for the Beosound A9 – we offer you infinite creative freedom.

Leather is a material that gains character over time. Our standards for this natural product are uncompromising – both in feel and ethics. We source our hides exclusively from farms that strictly commit to the "Five Freedoms" of animal welfare.
For us, responsible craftsmanship also means exhausting the full potential of every single hide. We process this precious material with deep respect, ensuring every piece of leather is used optimally. The result is unparalleled comfort and a longevity that lasts for generations.
Aluminum & Factory 5: The Alchemy of Perfection
A Legacy of Light and Metal
For over 50 years, we have been redefining the boundaries of the possible at our renowned Factory 5 in Struer. What began as a vision in 1971 is today a world-leading center of excellence for aluminum. Here, we unite all finishing processes under a single roof: from precision milling and turning to gentle pearl blasting and complex anodizing. At Factory 5, state-of-the-art robotic technology meets the trained eye and steady hand of our most experienced craftsmen.
Purity as a Standard, Responsibility as a Mandate
For a Bang & Olufsen product, only the highest grade of aluminum is acceptable. This is the only way to avoid impurities in the alloy and achieve that incomparably bright, fine surface that characterizes our design icons. Our commitment to longevity is inseparable from the circular economy: we are continuously increasing the proportion of recycled aluminum, with the goal of reaching at least 50% by 2030 – without ever compromising on aesthetic brilliance.
Revolutionary Coloring: The Spray Process
The secret of our colors lies in a unique spirit of innovation. While conventional processes rely on large dye baths, we have perfected a specialized color spray process at Factory 5. This not only conserves valuable water resources but also guarantees absolute color consistency for every single component.
For you, this means we create an individual "color recipe" for every workpiece. This flexibility allows us to change colors in production up to six times per hour and realize almost every nuance of the visible spectrum.
Atelier & Bespoke: The Pinnacle of Personalization
In the Atelier, we utilize the full range of Factory 5’s capabilities for your vision. With the technique of double anodization, we can apply two different colors to a single workpiece – a visual feat of mastery. Thanks to state-of-the-art laser cutting and engraving technologies, we also provide your system with a personal signature. At Factory 5, aluminum is not simply processed – it is refined to tell your story.
